Ryan Reynolds dresses in a particular sort of way. When he's not running around in very normal outfits—slim-fit tees, khaki chinos and Wrexham Football Club caps—he loves tailoring. He's got an arsenal of Brunello Cucinelli's soft suiting, fitted to his Deadpool-trained frame, and a handful of gray flannel two-pieces from Thom Browne.

While many Hollywood A-listers try and get down with the weird and wonderful to cause a stir on the red carpet, Reynolds prefers an aesthetic that's more 1970s college professor (on a superstar salary). He dresses like he's got a blockbuster premiere press call at 12 p.m. and a class on cartography at 3 p.m. But it's sexy. Reynolds is a lecturer who doesn't have to send passive-aggressive emails about poor class attendance. He's holding onto his hairline. He's got the jaw.

Raymond Hall

Earlier this week, the Red Notice actor gave a speech on teen mental health at a New York benefit for Glenn Close's nonprofit Bring Change To Mind. Serious stuff—and he dressed the part for it. His suit was reminiscent of the sort Robin Williams wore in Dead Poets Society. It was cut from a subtle juniper green, which matched the color of his tie. His shirt was neatly tucked into his front-pleated trousers. His burnished brown oxfords were definitely the sort of shoe you can imagine treading the 200-year-old floorboards of some Ivy League corridor. He finished the look with a pair of square-framed spectacles, which added to the overall professorial aesthetic.

You might not possess Reynolds' smooth-talking charm, but you can absolutely adopt his scholarly sartorial aesthetic. A dark olive suit ranks among the most handsome and flattering fall ensembles a guy can wear. And as it happens, the exact one Reynolds wore this week—from the beloved New York menswear label Todd Snyder—is still up for grabs in plenty of sizes.
