The legendary model still looks great. He said he has lost a little weight, down to a trim 225lbs from 252lbs, but he has kept his trademark hair, silk shirts and eel-skin boots.

Fabio still works out quite a bit, does not use alcohol or drugs. He also stays away from sweets.

The most notable difference in today's Fabio from the one many fans were first introduced to is his choice of bed.

Instead of a mattress, Fabio sleeps in a hyperbaric chamber which he said, 'reverses the aging process.'

The former spokesman for I Can't Believe It's Not Butter became a household name in the '90s after appearing on the cover of a number of romance novels.

In the interview, he talked about the first time he saw himself on one of the books.

A group of women approached him in a Miami dance club and told him he looked like the man on the cover of the novels they were reading. Realization dawned when they showed him the cover of the novels.

'I go like, "Oh my God, that's me." It was the first time I saw myself on the cover of the books.'

Since then, Fabio has appeared in movies and television shows as himself, but he will always mainly be remembered as the face of romance during the 1990s because he posed for over 1,300 novel covers.
