Smegma... ewww tmi pic

Does anyone else have any experience dealing with smegma? Had anyone found a way to prevent the build up? My son's dr said baths and proper washing would work but I still have to remove clumps every now and then. I removed this one just now.

  • What about baths with baking soda? I don't have particular experience with this but I was instructed by my daughters pediatrician to do that because of contestant irritation and smell. The baking soda baths can be done as much as 3x a day until the regular bath day is enough. Good luck!

  • Just curious but what is that lol
  • No, I haven't dealt with that since he was a baby. Could it be the type of soap he's using? Maybe try something like unscented dove.

It's pretty much a build up of dead skin and boys and girls can get it

Oh okay. I have a boy and never dealt with that thank you for letting me know :)
  • It doesn't hurt them and any child can get it. My SO doesn't have it and i don't think they grow out of it. He's snipped so I've always found it odd that he has it. He messed with it if i don't take it out, it's a little gross but i don't want him to hurt himself.
  • Also it showed up around the time he turned 1.
