Think of all the ways that a linear film structure stabilizes us - the cause and effect chain of events. But Memento is about a character completely destabilized, so Nolan destabilizes us accordingly in a way maybe no other movie has.

Wow, this is a mind-bender in the best way possible. I really enjoy how the story progresses in reverse chronological order, it really makes sense with the amnesia that the narrator has so that you are experiencing things like he does. I'm also incredibly confused by the ending but in a good way that makes me want to watch the movie again. This is just a challenge for me, but it was hard to keep track of character names that never actually get a face until much later, so if I watched this again, I would definitely take notes!

Everyone is the protagonist. Endless ranting and repeating scenes, or portions thereof to drive home a ridiculously told story about a man with short-term memory loss. There is no ending, just mouth wide open, as in what the f*** did I just watch?
