Great results two years in a row :)
I bought these last season and out of a hundred, probably 96 germinated. I didn’t get any deformed seeds and the majority grew sunflowers five feet or taller. I am purchasing these for a second year in a row. I can’t wait to get the same results this year. Pictures included are of last year’s seeds. (Update: I’ve now included pics of this year too and WOW!! Even better this year.)My tips:-the sooner they get into the ground and the more room they have, the bigger they’ll get. Mine this year are easily more than 10 feet tall and haven’t even bloomed yet. I started them in small pots and transplanted to the ground when about 5 inches tall, about 8-10 inches apart.-consistent watering is important because these aren’t drought tolerant plants-these really benefit from the use of an all-purpose plant fertilizer once or twice before they bloom. I use miracle gro all purpose plant fertilizer.-honeybees, ladybugs, butterflies and hummingbirds love these, so I plant them with my fruit/vegetable garden to attract pollinators.-if you get a sunflower head large enough, you can chop it off after it’s done blooming and collect the seeds from it to use for next year. I gave a head to my mom from last year and she now has the same great sunflowers I do from the seeds she removed.

These Sunflowers grew great. Almost 100% germination. In fact, I had too many to plant, I gave many away. The biggest challenge was not with germinating and growing, that took care of itself, the biggest challenge was keeping the critters from eating these delicious specimens! Real beauties. I'm growing them again this year.

Planted these a little late (Mid-June) in Wisconsin. Loved watching them grow! Bloomed in September. Tallest was 11 feet. The seeds were great! Highly recommend staking them as they get taller, the wind took mine down - but they all bloomed even the ones where the stems split when they fell over (I stood most back up with stakes, but some I thought were bad - I didn’t). I’m going to try again next summer and be proactive with tall stakes.
