One day my friend asked me, “If you could be a flower, what would you be?”. I smiled and replied, “sunflower!”. She surprisingly asked, Why? “Because it’s a flower of happiness, hope, and beauty,” I responded with a smile.

Since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by sunflowers. And I still get excited whenever I see them. Their warm radiant faces with a dark disc in the middle make me happy and blissful. They are my favorite! 😍

I admire sunflowers not only for their symbolism but also for their powerful life lessons. Reasons I want to be a sunflower are:

1. Like a sunflower, even in my darkest days, I want to follow the rays of happiness.

Sunflowers admire the sun and follow its rays across the sky. Even on cloudy days, they somehow manage to track the sun and face towards the brightest light.

This fascinating heliotropism phenomenon of sunflowers taught me the great lesson of optimism. No matter how bad today is, always remember tomorrow is another day with endless opportunities and happiness.

2. Like a sunflower, I want to stand tall and grow high.

Sunflowers are strong and tall plants that can grow up to 14 feet tall within six months. They taught me to be confident and to outgrow things that limit my growth.

3. Like a sunflower, Be your own kind of beauty.

Sunflowers are different! Like any other flowers, they are not delicate and fragrant. Still, they are special in their own way. They taught me a beautiful way of living without worrying about what others think of me.

I hope you’ll find this article insightful and you’ll get inspired by these life lessons. Your suggestions and comments are highly appreciated.
