History of Lamborghini

Ferruccio Lamborghini, the creator of the brand that bears his name and is recognized for producing slick, high-performance automobiles, is born in Italy on April 28, 1916. Near Bologna, Italy, Lamborghini established a company to produce tractors using repurposed military surplus equipment after World War II. He later diversified into other businesses, such as the production of heating and cooling systems, and became wealthy. Due to Lamborghini's success, he was able to buy a number of high-end sports cars, including a Ferrari, which was regarded as one of the best vehicles at the time. After having mechanical issues with his Ferrari, Lamborghini made the decision to found his own competing sports car company and even hired a former top engineer from Ferrari. In Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy, Automobili Lamborghini was founded officially in 1963. The Lamborghini 350 GTV, a two-seater coupe with a V12 engine, made its debut that year. A bull appeared in the company's logo, a nod to Ferruccio Lamborghini's zodiac sign of Taurus, the bull. A number of Lamborghini models bore names derived from bulls or bullfighting, such as the Miura (named after Don Eduardo Miura, a breeder of fighting bulls), a mid-engine sports car that was introduced in the middle of the 1960s and gave Lamborghini a reputation for prestige and avant-garde design. When Lamborghini's tractor company ran into difficulties in the early 1970s, he eventually sold his stock in the sports car company and retired to his vineyard. After several ownership changes, Volkswagen of Germany acquired Automobili Lamborghini in the late 1990s.

Lamborghini Countach

The Lamborghini Countach is a sports car with a rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive that was made by the Italian automaker Lamborghini from 1974 to 1990. The Italian design firm Bertone, which invented and made popular the acutely angled "Italian Wedge" shape, created this as one of its many exotic designs. The 1970 Lancia Stratos Zero concept car served as the first example of the look to the general public. At the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, the Countach prototype made its debut as the Lamborghini LP500 concept.  The development of the Countach was initiated by Ferruccio Lamborghini with the goal of creating a successor to the Miura. The Miura was widely acclaimed after its introduction in 1966, but by 1970 new competitors including the Ferrari Daytona had been introduced to the market, and the Miura was showing its age. Chief engineer Paolo Stanzani and his staff began work on the Miura successor in 1970 under the project name "LP112." From the beginning of the project, Stanzani's collaborators included test driver Bob Wallace, assistant engineer Massimo Parenti and designer Marcello Gandini of Bertone

Performance

The existing Lamborghini V12 engine was the center of the Countach's rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive architecture. The engine in the Countach was longitudinally mounted as opposed to the transversely mounted engine in the Miura.

The first Countach generation was named LP 400. Its 4-liter V12 engine was mounted lengthwise (Longitudinale Posteriore, hence the LP and produced 375 CV. A maximum speed of 309 km/h and an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds proved that the LP 400 was not only a stunning sight but also offered the expected top-notch performance Lamborghini stood for.

Lamborghini Countach in Riyadh Car Show

The second edition of the Riyadh Car Show by Seven Concours featured more than 400 Exotic and (one of) cars, Demonstrating the exclusivity and strength of the automotive industry in Saud Arabia and the Middle east. The Lamborghini Countach was one of the main figures of the Riyadh Car Show's last two editions as Lamborghini is one of the prominent manufacturers of the most exotic and exclusive car show in the region.
