There are two new eateries in town. Urban Dessert Works and Mama Thai's Food Truck recently opened in Lubbock.

Urban Dessert Works

A new concept from the locals who started Pie Bar opened last week at 8209 Slide Road, Suite 700.

Urban Dessert Works combines favorites from the Pie Bar, ice cream and other fixings to create unique desserts. The menu also has shakes topped with pie mousse.

Owner Carson McCabe and his team have put a lot of work into creating a sweet new experience.

The dessert shop is in the former Hastings on Slide Road. The Wine Nest and My Sweat Hut have also moved into the space, which is being divided up for tenants.

Mama Thai's Food Truck

A new Thai food truck recently hit the Lubbock streets.

Mama Thai's Food Truck serves traditional Thai food, using genuine family recipes from owner Heather Weber, reads a news release about the business. Weber spent her early life in Thailand, and is excited to bring authentic food to West Texas.

Customers can pre-order food through Toast Tab.

Follow Mama Thai's on Facebook to see where the food truck is parked for lunch and dinner.
