A Tinfoil Hat of My Own: A Tale of Friendship, Bikers, and Werewolves

Rate this book
Bikers are sort of pissy. So are werewolves.

Dealing with the devastating end to her long-term relationship with Cobweb, Eunice decides to pick up the broken pieces of her heart and glue them back together with the healing song of nature and a nourishing brandy to replenish the soul.

As evening falls on her drunken pity party in the park, it's time to head home and deal with the consequences of the not-so-anonymous tip to the cops and what she may or may not have done to Cobweb's bike--and clubhouse.

All thoughts of that end when something bigger than a pissed off biker gets ahold of her--nothing says burning calories like booking it through woods with a mermaid-killing werewolf at your heels.

Will Cobweb miss her? Will Eunice survive?

Friendship, bikers, werewolves, and repurposed tinfoil. Some stories just have it all.

I’ve been meaning to read this for ages. I love the title A Tinfoil Hat of My Own.

This is a short story of fantasy and friendship with a bit of humour. A very quick read for fans of hairy beasts, be that werewolves or bikers.

As this is such a short story, I’m not going to say much about the very little plot that there is and spoil the story. But for me, the thing that came through strongest was the friendship between the two main characters.

I’d also like a tinfoil hat of my own too please!

Poor Eunice, things aren’t going so great for her. She has broken up with her biker boyfriend, Cobweb, may have done something she shouldn’t have and now, she is trapped by a pretty big werewolf with some pretty big werewolf teeth. (Maybe she would be more terrified if she weren’t a little drunk?) In charges her knight in shining…tinfoil???? and her life promises never to be the same!

Hilarious, chaotic, quirky and quick, A Tinfoil Hat of My Own by Echo Shea is one of those fantasy shorts that will leave a smile on your face, for all of its silliness and spark! Perfect to escape the office, during a boring lunch, anytime you might need a chuckle or two, definitely cheaper than therapy, but just as refreshing!

I received this copy from Echo Shea in exchange for my honest review.

Better on it's own than as the plug for a novel

Echo Shea's Tinfoil Hat of My Own is one of those short stories intended to promote a novel, in this case Shea's Light a Candle for the Beast. Usually the story accompanies the first chapter or two of the novel to whet your whistle (which Tinfoil does), and in most cases the story relates in some way to the novel or its characters, which Tinfoil doesn't.

It's not often, however, that the short story whets your whistle for a far different novel than the one it promotes.

I'm not a huge fan of paranormal fantasy, but I found Tinfoil a far better read than the novel it promoted. (I review more than my share of PNF novels because Indie writers find it easier to market genre fiction than literary work.) Tinfoil features a familiar cast—werewolf girl Eunice bitten against her will and her mentor Billy Joe, a hunter who trains her because they share an ingrained sense of patriotism.

Both are thrown together during a werewolf attack on a Hell's Angel clubhouse that results in a wholesale slaughter. Billy Joe, ex special forces and former mental patient would probably have dispatched Eunice as quickly as the others except no one can sing "America the Beautiful" as beautifully as she can. (And she needs someone to teach her the real lyrics.)

Billy Joe and Eunice live life off the grid, a lifestyle perfectly suited for a psychotic hunter and a biker chick werewolf. To divulge more of the story would be to reveal its contents entirely for it's barely two dozen-pages (depending on your type size setting).

Tinfoil may seem overpriced at two-dozen pages, especially for a promo, but readers will see this more an more with Amazon's new pricing structure. For readers with Kindle Unlimited the price will not be a problem. It's a good price for a good story. However, I can't feel it would have fit better in an anthology than promoting this particular novel.

I love the title and cover for A Tinfoil Hat Of My Own by Echo Shea. Not only did she write this super short, but she created the fabulous cover too.

Eunice should know better than to walk in the isolated part of the park. After all, it is very possible that her ex boyfriend’s biker club may come after her for what she did to them.

There are screams, a bite, she runs, but doesn’ t get far.

Thank God for Billy Joe.

Got 5 or 10 minutes, check out this fun and quirky supernatural tale.

I think the title shows that the story will not be all blood and guts, but smiles and laughter with the light hearted and comical writing.

Sometimes I find it hard to write a review for a story so short, 23 Kindle pages, without giving too much away.

That being said, I find it amazing that Echo Shea could pack so much into such a small place.

I read this four times and liked it better each time.

I received a copy of A Tinfoil Hat Of My Own by Echo Shea in return for an honest and unbiased review.

Oh my goodness , poor Eunice she is having a really , really bad day . First she breaks up with her boyfriend and then is cornered and attacked in the park by a gang of werewolves . She might of had a chance to get away if she wasn't drunk. Things look bleak for our girl Eunice until her knight in shining tinfoil shows up and foils the plans of the wolves .
All I can say about this short story is be prepared to laugh your ass off. Echo has written such a fun and witty short story . The characters are hilarious and you will fall in love with be with tinfoil. Eunice is such a great character . You will laugh when she starts singing . It would be great to see more of these character . See how they are doing . So if you need a laugh and want a great short read this is the story for you

This was such a fun quick read, I'm sad I have had it on my tbr list for way too long.
My favourite line nearly had my snorting water.
"Then I heard this splash like something falling into the water and there was another scream and I might’ve been suffering from blood loss at the time, because my first thought was that the bastard was attacking mermaids!"

I definitely recommend this short story.

LENA'S RANDOM REVIEWS
An ABLS R&R

A Tinfoil Hat of My Own by Echo Shea

A little about the Story: Eunice has a bad break up with Cobweb and throws a major Tantrum. He being apart of the Hell's Angels MC, she walks away knowing they will come after her. Little did she know, they weren't the only ones & how drastically her life would change.

Lena's Opinion

Pros- I Love this Short Story. Humor in the mist of danger. Sarcastic Humor at that. She is being attacked by something and instead of screaming frantically, she is trying to figure out what it could be and how to get out of the situation. Eunice is my kinda girl. I would like to say more but it is a short story and I don't want to give anything more away.

Cons- It's A Short Story lol Not really a Con except, I wanted to read MORE!

If you like Short Stories and Want a Good One, Add this one to your TBR but seriously Read it.

I Give this Story 4 Stars☆☆☆☆

A Terrific Quirky Funny Read
This is not the first book that I've read by this author and it most certainly will not be the last. I just love her witty, sarcastic, quirky writing style. This story is not exception. Eunice is a definite oddball among oddballs. You would think that screaming for dear life would come from her upon being attacked, rather than when being rescued, but I guess the though didn't occur to her, what with all of the other random hilarious thoughts rolling through her mind. I definitely laughed out loud a few times during the short read and was glad to see that Eunice finally got her lyrics correct. You'll see what I mean when you read. Get his story and read it! Seriously! You won't regret it. I can't wait to read more from this lovely, extremely witty, and talented author.

A Tinfoil Hat of my Own, a fun short read that was packed with bikers, brandy mermaid killing werewolves, Patriots and tinfoil hats...

This fun quirky read had me spraying coffee out my nose..
-"please let him come down with some sort of flesh-eating bacteria that aims at his baby-making equipment first. Amen, ohm, Namaste.”-

If you looking for a quick read to escape from the real world, then grab A Tinfoil Hat of my own and enjoy a little fun and fantasy..
Looking forward to reading more from this author.

I received an ARC fro an honest review

I don't really know what to say about this book. It was weird and not really what I was expecting. The girl is running from werewolf's and meets a weird man who saved her. She has an odd way of thinking as she goes through the motions in this story. Her thought process seems to be all over the place and when she finally is saved by the man he eventually gives her her own tinfoil hat. The writing was good and unique as the story.

I give this a 3 stars.

What a absolutely enjoyable experience. This quick and quirky read is about the bonding friendship between two of societies misfits.
They each accept the others eccentric views without question, just as we all did as small children. I just had to smile and sometimes laugh (in a good way) at this extraordinary "odd couple"...... Well Done.

This is a very short but fun read. It was different than what I am used to but it was well written, easy to follow and fun to read.

It only took me about an hour to read it but I was glad that I did. It is a funny short about paranormal activity and it brings an original humor to the story.

Wonderful Read

This short story was unique and interesting. It kept me wanting to read. I wish it didn't end, but all good things have to end sometime. This was a wonderful read and if you are looking for something to take place of boredom this is it.
