UPDATE: Works. It did not work for me initially but…
This did not work for me but in theory it should. Heck, people use water and it does wonders for them. I must have a very clogged print head.My print head is removable. My printer (Canon Pro9000 Mark II) takes 8 ink cartridges so I needed a larger container to soak it in. I found that the 100mL of solution was just not enough for my application. I soaked it longer than the recommended 30 min and got way worse result than I had before. Before the cleaning just the black ink was clogged. Now, it appears 4 out of 8 colors are clogged. I’m scratching my head here.I am not giving up yet. I have ordered another cleaning solution and will give it another go. For now, I give it 2 star.UPDATE:After soaking my print head in another solution second time, I was still having same bad results. After internet search and looking at my print head, it occurred to me that the initial clog was cleared by the solution.The issue I was having now is entirely different problem. The ink simply did not flow from the cartridge to the print head - could be air bubbles or bad seal.Solution:Basically I had to prime the inks. Here is how I did it:I placed the print head onto a paper towel. Using a syringe with very long needle, I manually placed a drop of ink into each color pad on the print head (I had to peel off the sticker on the cartridge to access ink - I sealed it with tape after). This would be easier if you have refillable inks. I let the pad soak up the ink, then repeated the process. I did that several times until I saw ink soaking into to the paper towel on the bottom. I did that for all trouble colors. Once i was satisfied, I popped the print head back in to the printer, installed cartridges and did a print test. Worked like a charm!
