Electroencephalography (EEG)

Electroencephalography (EEG) is an examination method for diseases of the brain such as

  • dementia
  • but also with epilepsy after a stroke
  • Metabolic diseases and
  • unclear states of fainting and exhaustion.

Brain activity is measured using electrodes on the scalp. After the measuring electrodes have been placed exactly on the scalp, the examination takes about 15 minutes.

Brain wave activity is recorded at rest, when awake and with eyes closed. The reaction of brain waves is examined when the eyes are opened or when deep inhaling and exhaling as well as when the light is flickering.

We ask our patients to relax. This gives us good quality test results.
