Cần Thơ Stadium is a football stadium in Ninh Kiều District, Can Tho City. This stadium has the largest capacity in Vietnam (even larger than My Dinh Stadium) with 60,000 seats. The stadium not only hosts football matches but also motorcycle racing competitions. It is located along the Hau River, near the old Can Tho ferry terminal, on Le Loi Street, Cai Khe Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City. The satellite stadium is the Military Zone 9 Stadium.

    Capacity (estimated):

    • Grandstand A: 20,000 seats (including 85 VIP seats).
    • Grandstand B: 20,000 seats.
    • Grandstand C: 10,000 seats.
    • Grandstand D: 10,000 seats.
    • Standing places above Grandstands B, C, D: 5,000 places.
    • Total: 60,000 seats, 5,000 standing places (in case all seats are occupied).

The stadium was built during the French colonial period, and after renovations and upgrades in 1981, Can Tho Stadium was considered the largest stadium in Southeast Asia at that time. Recently, after renovations for the National Sports Festival in 2012, the stadium's capacity decreased to 5,000 seats, but it still remains the largest stadium in Vietnam today. The stadium is divided into 4 grandstands with different colors (green, red, yellow, blue). Grandstand A is considered the new VIP stand built with a canopy and all seats installed. Grandstands B, C, D are arranged in a C-shaped concrete structure, similar to steps, and in 2019, all seats on Grandstands B, C, D were replaced with blue plastic seats instead of concrete steps.

The unique feature of Can Tho Stadium is that the grandstands are built in a bowl shape. On top of the grandstands, there is a wide path about 6m wide for easy access. Since the grandstands are built with soil, rows of green trees are planted outside to provide natural shade. The field size meets international standards at 120m x 90m, with high-quality grass that ensures good playing conditions even in heavy rain. Additionally, the stadium has 2 technical rooms for television stations, press agencies to operate, 8 running tracks, 4 motorcycle racing tracks, modern electronic scoreboards, and 4 floodlights for matches and evening events.

    6. Hàng Đẫy Stadium

Hàng Đẫy Stadium is a stadium located on Trịnh Hoài Đức Street, Hanoi, Vietnam, with a seating capacity of approximately 22,580. Before the My Dinh National Stadium was built, Hang Day was the venue for matches of the Vietnam national football team as well as the women's and Olympic teams. It has also hosted numerous sports and cultural events in Hanoi and Vietnam. In 1998, the opening matches, Group B, and the Tiger Cup final were held here. From 2000 to 2006, the stadium was renamed Hanoi Stadium. Hang Day Stadium is currently the home stadium of Hanoi, Viettel, and Phu Dong.

Throughout its 60-year history, Hang Day Stadium has undergone several renovations and upgrades to meet international standards. Most notably, in the 1990s, renovations were made to prepare for the 1998 Tiger Cup, including modern lighting systems, field adjustments, grass replacement, installation of seats, electronic clocks, and scoreboards, and an expansion of seating capacity to over 30,000. In 2017, the facility underwent another upgrade with a budget of over 10 billion dong after Hanoi city decided to transfer the stadium to Hanoi T&T Football Club. In the early 2000s, in preparation for the 2003 SEA Games in Vietnam, the stadium and its surrounding area were upgraded and reorganized. However, after 2010, the stadium began to deteriorate and reached a critical and dangerous level by 2015. In early 2018, the corporation announced plans to demolish and rebuild the entire Hang Day Stadium with a budget of up to 250 million euros (approximately over 7 trillion dong). The Bouygues Group (France) was awarded this contract and started construction in the fourth quarter of 2018. According to the design, the new Hang Day Stadium will have 4 basement levels, 2 above-ground levels, and grandstands forming a complex of sports and cultural service facilities, rather than just serving sports as it does currently. The new Hang Day Stadium is expected to eliminate the runway, accommodate 20,000 spectators, and have FIFA-standard roofing. Especially, the football pitch will be located on the second above-ground level, above a series of service and cultural facilities such as cinemas, event centers, or underground parking systems, serving the entire surrounding residential area.

This is the home stadium of Hue Football Club (formerly Thua Thien-Hue Football Club).

It is known as the only stadium in Vietnam and the Indochina region with a concrete racing track for bicycles and motorcycles. Therefore, many sports events held here have brought memorable moments to Vietnam's sports.
