Summary[edit]
DescriptionLakshmana Temple, Khajuraho, India 04.jpg |
English: The Lakshmana Temple in Khajuraho is one of the most prominent and well-preserved temples within the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its exquisite temple architecture. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and was constructed during the Chandela dynasty's rule, around the 10th century. Architecturally, the temple features a distinct north Indian Nagara-style shikhara (spire) and is surrounded by smaller shrines and decorative features. The sanctum sanctorum houses a four-armed idol of Lord Vishnu, emphasizing the temple's religious significance. The structure consists of all the elements of Hindu temple architecture. It has entrance porch(ardh-mandapa), Mandapa, Maha-Mandapa, Antarala and Garbhagriha.
